The angelshark has a very flat body and at first glance resembles a ray. It spends most of its time buried in the sand, waiting for prey. As soon as a fish approaches, it shoots upwards and catches it in a flash. This hunting method is extremely effective. It used to be common in Europe, but today it is an critically endangered species due to fishing.
